The ES270 and ES400 AIR are our lightweight travel batteries. Flying rules are below.

Flying with a CPAP battery.

The ES270 is 99.9Wh, under the FAA's 100Wh limit for spare batteries, so it needs no airline approval. The ES400 AIR is 148Wh and needs your airline's approval. Batteries over 160Wh, including the ES720 and ES960 families, aren't allowed on passenger planes.

Do the batteries come with cables?

Yes. Every battery comes with four DC cables for the most common ResMed and Philips machines. Luna G3, Transcend Micro and Prisma need a cable we sell separately.

Will it work with my CPAP?

If it's on our list, yes. The matcher shows the cable and the voltage setting for your machine. Check your model here.

How many nights will I get?

At 8.4W, ResMed's published number for an AirSense 10 at 6 cmH2O with the humidifier and heated tube off: about 1 night for the ES270, 1–2 for the ES400 AIR, 2–3 for the ES720 family and 3 for the ES960 family. Higher pressure, leaks and a humidifier mean fewer. The runtime calculator works out your settings.

What's the difference between the ES720 and the ES960?

The ES960 has more capacity (297.6Wh vs 266.4–276.48Wh) and LiFePO4 cells rated for 3,000+ cycles, but it weighs about 6.6 lb. The ES720 family weighs about 3.3 lb.
